Petals, Rain, and Presence

I.
Fresh rose stripped to petals—
light as lettuce
on my tongue,
herb and sweet tasting.
I share a nibble
with Him.

II.
Rain slickens the day.
Sky patting down earth,
gentle is our moment—
filled with presence.

III.
“You’re right.
This is much better than coffee,”
I tell Him.

It’s like He reached
between my heart
and my mind,
peeked forward a fantasy thought
into life—

rose petals for breakfast,
and
rain showers,
my new
beauty regimen.
