I.
Bats
Echo-trace bouncing soundwaves,
cogniscent hearing.
Building sense through vibration,
mapping the unseen like a boomerang.
II.
Cats
Lucid vision at night,
eyes reflecting low light.
Mirrors of sight,
bending shadow.
III.
Snakes
Many snakes sense heat,
they see in the night,
reading warmth as form,
the body written in temperature.
There is strength in what was needed to survive.
What once kept me alive
was weighted down by shame and the strange,
until I remembered
through devotion,
nature shames no one
and is brilliantly strange.
