Illumined Wing Tips

I.
On my knees,
eyes closed in speaking to Him
before I go to sleep.

“I surrender this to You.”

I tell Him.
Warmth passes over me
and a moth appears
with illumined wing tips—
her wings significant lights that glow—
Acceptance.

II.
He receives my offering
and shares back
the moth, my personal harbinger of change.

Comfort fills my heart
and relief.
I know I’ve done the right thing
for me.

III.
He uses the moth symbol
from my family line—
to honor where I come from
and hold me
with His and their love.

It reminds me
I am never alone
and can always give up to Him
the things I have been clutching
too long
without asking for help.

IV.
I learn
what relationship can be like
from Him,
in safety,
and slowly I soak it all in.

Every gift of connection
without expectation.
He shows me
He doesn’t see me
as lacking anything—
and my worth isn’t contingent
on what I can give.
